Lakewood, Westminster, & Evergreen
Hi! My name is Andrea Dickkut and I am very excited to join the HSC team as the new Art Instructor. Who is Andrea? I grew up on a family farm in Iowa, instilled with hard working values and an appreciation for nature. With a BA in Fine Art/Education from Wartburg College, I have poked my fingers in many areas of the “art pie”.
I have taught ages K-adult in both public and private studio settings in PA, IL, AZ and CO. I have exhibited and sold my art professionally, including the illustration of an award-winning board book for ages 0-3, Mommy Loves Baby, (author, Troy Muilenburg). I have organized student art exhibits, including the 2018 Imagine! Connections exhibition at the Boulder Dairy Arts Center, highlighting and selling the Artwork of developmentally disabled students. Skill areas include painting, 3-D sculpture, and design/illustration.
I am inspired by the natural beauty of Colorado and consider it my home of choice. I have lived in Arvada, CO for two years with my husband, John, and our two lively Dachshunds Copper and Moose. I have two grown children, a daughter residing nearby and a son in AZ; both raised in the Parker, CO area.
In my free time I love to swim, hike, play with my dogs and paint in my home studio!
My goal as parent, artist and teacher is to encourage the importance of Art in everyday life as we learn, reflect, create and connect to one another. I am honored for the opportunity in the year ahead to collaborate and grow alongside students, parents and colleagues within the HSC team!
